You’ve made some awesome content. Now what? How do you get your blogs content in front of as many eyes as possible?

Simply throwing out a link to your content on all of the social networks you can find is not going to increase your blogs viewership. When you first start out with a new blog, you will need to devote a large amount of time to building a following. To build a following for your blog, you need to be active in communities that can benefit from the content you have to share.

This, of course, means you need to know your target audience. What problems are your target audience facing that your content can help solve? How will your blogs content, or the product you’re selling on this blog, improve their lives? It doesn’t have to be anything life-changing, they just need to see a value in what you’re offering.

Here’s a quick summary of the infographic below:

Your blog needs to be awesome

Be helpful, and be unique. Don’t be afraid to allow your personality to shine through in your writing. People buy from people, not brands. Tell stories, quote experts, and make sure to respond quickly to rising trends on the internet.

Make sure it’s searchable

If you want people to find your awesome content, keyword research is everything. Figure out who your target market is, what they’re searching for, then cater your content to those keywords.

Visual, visual, and more visual

Use images to attract traffic to your blog. Everyone can spot a generic stock photo from a mile away, so create your own original images whenever possible. Use text overlay on your images to really get peoples attention. Invest some real time into creating meaningful and valuable content. People are busy and will need a reason as to why they should be reading your blog.

Build real relationships

People love to buy from people they know. Focus on building real relationships first, before you start asking everyone to share your content. Share other peoples content, nurture your reading audience, and it will payoff in the long run.

Know your target audience

Don’t just throw links to your content everywhere and anywhere. What is the objective of your blog? Who are you trying to reach? What are there needs, there problems? What solutions can you provide them? Use these questions to build and effective marketing campaign, with email at it’s center. Yes, email.

Harness the power of social media

Share your content in as many relevant places as possible. Build relationships with people over social media, share their content, engage followers, reach out to influencers, and build a loyal following. Don’t forget to re-publish older content (that is still relevant), and even update older blog posts to keep them relevant. Oh, and don’t forget about Pinterest, as it could be too powerful for you to ignore.

But before I give away everything, here is a beautiful, resource-filled infographic with 36 proven methods to promote your blog posts.
