You know the feeling. You’re scrolling through Facebook, looking for some relevant posts from your actual friends, wondering why you still bother, and it happens.
You come across some stupid meme, listicle, or spam video from a radio station. Something like this:
Now, this may simply be an instance of seeing something your friend enjoys enough to share with you, but you simply don’t feel the same way about it. That’s fine, everyone has different tastes.
But, we all have that friend. The serial sharer of content that can only be considered spam. The one who pollutes your feed with Minions, inspirational quotes, or “LIKE if you agree” posts. The ones who seemingly have nothing better to do than be on Facebook all day.
For that friend, we have a special solution.
How To Hide Your Friends Posts on Facebook
When you decide you’ve had enough of a friends posts, follow these steps.
Hover your mouse cursor over your friends name.
A box will then popup just below the name. At the bottom of the box you will see a button that says “Following”, with a check mark to the left of it. Hover your mouse cursor over that button.
A menu will then drop down below that button. Navigate your mouse cursor to the bottom of the menu, and click “Unfollow *friend’s name*”.
And just like that, you have unfollowed you friend. You will still be their Facebook “friend”, but you will no longer see their posts in your news feed.
The best part? Your friend will have no idea. So you don’t have to worry about hurting anyone’s feelings.
